One of my fondest memories from Christmastime as a kid was driving around with my family to look at the lights people had up. We’d drive to the same neighborhoods every year and my parents would take a nice slow ride around the neighborhood so we could get a good look. I mean, that’s half the fun of the holidays. Obviously, the presents were the best part, but man did we like the lights. I always thought as a kid that it looked like so much work to put all those lights, trees, ribbons, and wreaths up. Well, it turns out that it is (of course) and that’s why most people tend to hire professionals to do it for them. Well, luckily for anyone reading this, we offer this service right here at Greenstreet. We have crews who work on residential and commercial Christmas Décor every year and we always have room to add your home or business to the list!
Now, I am sure you are wondering what the process is and what you really get with the purchase of your installation of decorations. First, you would go onto our website and under “Locations and Departments” you will find the tab “Christmas Décor at Greenstreet”. If you click that tab and submit your information, one of consultants will reach out to you and the process to getting your lights out up will be on its way! When you agree to have a décor installation done, you really get 5 things. You get a design consultation, installation, proactive maintenance, take down, and year-round storage. Let’s get into what each of those will entail.
Your design consultation will start with a phone call. You will outline what you are looking for and our consultant will let you know some of our selection and offer ideas with what you could do with your space. After the initial phone call, you will schedule a time for the consultant to come out to the house for a site visit. They will take pictures and measurements and really get into what your vision is for your home. After the site visit, they will draft an itemized proposal and provide a digital rendering of what your home will look like with all your decorations put up. If you like what you see, you sign the proposal, and we move forward with the Christmas décor project from there. One important detail about the consultation and proposal is it done with no cost to you! The consultation is free and there are absolutely no strings attached.
If you sign the proposal, the next step would be the actual installation. Typically, folks will have their lights put up sometime directly after Thanksgiving, but we can work with whenever you would like them done. The day of the installation goes a lot quicker than you might think. We have 3–4-man crews who will typically take between 1-3 hours depending on the size of the jobs. Our guys work quickly and safely to get the job done and get on their way with as little disruption to your life as possible.
Along with your installation comes the maintenance of your decorations while they are still up. Normally, there are no issues along the way but since the decorations end up being outdoors for over a month, there is occasionally a malfunction here or there along the way. Our crews will be back out immediately to fix any problems that could potentially arise as we get through the holiday season. If there is a storm and your lights are blown down, we will be out when the storm passes to put them back up with no charge to you.
After the holidays come and go and it’s time to take everything down, our crews will once again be back out and get things pulled down even quicker than they put them up. Typically, the take down goes 2-3 times faster than the initial install. The crew will wrap everything up and put them away into storage here at Greenstreet so they will be safe and ready for you if you decide to go with us again next year!
Having Christmas décor put up on your house could be considered a bit of a luxury item but the aesthetic and memories they provide to your family and communities respective holidays is certainly priceless. Like I said when I started this, we all love driving by those houses with nice, clean, and beautiful professionally installed decorations. They look great and you don’t have to deal with the hassle of putting them up yourself.
