Winter is a great time to evaluate your landscape in terms of interest and structure – plan now while you have some time. Envision new gardens with plants such as Winterberry (Ilex verticillata), fragrant winter Daphne (Daphne odora), blooms in winter – Christmas Rose! (Helleborous Jacob), native Winter King Hawthorn (Crataegus viridis) with its ruby red berries, just to name a few. Houseplants can brighten up the inside of your home during the cold winter months. Remember to turn and prune them regularly to keep them shapely. To promote a bushy plant, “pinch” back the new growth. How do the leaves look?
