GREAT LAWNS in FIVE EASY STEPS

Watering

Watering is one of the most important elements in maintaining good lawn. In the Chesapeake Bay area, you need to follow a watering schedule: If planting new grass, you need to keep the new planting moist; and after the new roots have taken hold and the grass has reached a height of three (3) inches, you need to water your lawn deeply once a week. A healthy lawn needs about one inch of water per week – water infrequently but deeply. This principle applies for all grass types and climates. ‘Course if you just received a heavy rainfall, adjust your watering.
